Let us rewrite the statement as : -5 = 7 + (-Z)

or z = 12

Hence Quantity A > Quantity B

i.e. option A

Explanation

Translate the question stem into an equation and solve for z:

–5 = –z + 7

–12 = –z

12 = z

Because z = 12 > –12, Quantity A is greater.
