there could be other simpler ways. I have assumed the value of root2 to 1.4

When solved, B is greater than A

Given:
Quantity A: 4 + 2√2
Quantity B: 2 + 4√2

Subtract 2 from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 2 + 2√2
Quantity B: 4√2

Subtract 2√2 from both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 2
Quantity B: 2√2

Divide both quantities by 2 to get:
Quantity A: 1
Quantity B: √2

Since √1 = 1, we know that √2 must be GREATER THAN 1

Answer: B

Cheers,
Brent
