Solve the system of equations, then y=6 and x=-4.

Thus x+y=2 -> C

Here's A DIFFERENT APPROACH

Since quantity A = x + y, we don't need to actually solve the given system for the individual values of x and y.

Given:
2x + 3y = 10
x + 2y = 8

Subtract the bottom equation from the top equation to get: x + y = 2

We get:
Quantity A: 2
Quantity B: 2

Cheers,
Brent
