It is easy to check that lawyers doing corporate law are 21%. Those who are doing any type of litigation are x^2% + (x+1)%. Now, in order to find x, we can notice that x^2+(x+1)+x = 100%-21%-17%-22%-15% = 25%. Solving this equation we get that x = -6 and x = 4. Since x is a percentage it must be non-negative, thus x = 4. Then, we can substitute x^2=4^2=16 and x+1=4+1=5. Thus, the lawyers doing any type of litigation are 21% exactly as those doing corporate law. Answer C!

Given
civil ligitation = (x+1)%

criminal ligitation = x^2%

We are required to find out the total value of these ligitation, but here x are unknown. For that we have to find out x first.

In the circle the whole % will be equal to 100%

so we can add up all the individual group which will sum up to 100%

i.e we have x^2% +(x+1)% +15% + 22% +17% +x% +21% =100%
or x^2 +(x+1) +15 + 22 +17 +x +21 =100 (donot confuse with the percentage , for easy calculation i have removed percentage from both sides)

or x^2 + 2x = 100-1-15-22-17-21

or x^2 +2x = 24

or x^2 +2x-24 = 0

or (x-4)(x+6) =0

or x= 4 or x=-6

Since x cannot be negative we have taken x=4

now putting the vaules o f x we have

civil ligitation = (x+1)% = 5%

criminal ligitation = x^2% = 16%

Total = 5%+16% = 21%

and from the Diagram we know number of lawyers who practice corporate laws = 21%

so the option is C
