The average (arithmetic mean) of a, 2a, and 9 = 7
So, (a + 2a + 9)/3 = 7
Multiply both sides by 3 to get: a + 2a + 9 = 21
Simplify: 3a + 9 = 21
Solve: a = 4

So, we have:
Quantity A: 5
Quantity B: 4
